welcome home
a refuge for your soul
You say I'm brave
but what if I enjoy pain?
The kind that rips you open with meaning
crumbles you to your knees
just so
you can meet Love through your own hands
You say I'm brave
but I say, what else could I possibly be here for
if not to live every breath
and how does one live
except through their own body
How does one know joy and sorrow
without knowing
the ripples of their laughter
the layers of their tears
the shades of their cheeks

How does one know themselves
without knowing
the tickles of excitement
and the pathways they run under their skin
or the depths of their bracing
and the way they contract against life
How does one know life
without knowing their own heartbeat
or feeling the rhythm of Divinity pulsing through their humanness?
You say I'm brave
but tell me,
where else do you meet God
except at the altar of your own feet?
